The continent of Africa is a dream for any tourist. Africa is a very diverse continent. It has seas and beaches on one side, lush green forests in which there is an abundance of wildlife and also great deserts. There are so many tourist attractions in Africa that one may be spoilt for choice. Africa possesses it all from the exciting safaris, the beaches, the great diving and surfing spots to the vineyards where a tourist can enjoy a quiet time with a glass of wine. Then of course there is the scenic beauty and the rich history that the countries of Africa are so famous for. Basically there are all the factors which makes the African holiday an adventure vacation.
There are many ways in which a tourist can travel to Africa. Every country in Africa has got their own international airports. A tourist can book a travel independently, but if a tourist wants to travel to many countries in Africa it is preferable to book a travel through a travel agency or tour operator.
If one is to escape a cold climate then there can be no better travelling destination than Africa with its sunny weather and warm climate. The thing that makes the continent of Africa a tourist haven is that it has attractions for all types of tourists. For the tourists who love nature and wildlife, there can be arguably a no better destination than Africa. Africa has lush green forests and an unparalleled number of species of wildlife. There are resorts which offer the tourists to stay very near the forests so that the tourists can enjoy nature. Then there are the safaris which offer the tourists the sight of wild animals in the open at a very close distance. The safaris also offer tourists an after sunset tour of the jungles.
For the history loving tourists also Africa is a great place to travel to. Tourists may travel to Egypt which offers a great deal of historical monuments with the pyramids and the great sphinx of Giza. Some tourists also prefer to go to Egypt to cross the Sahara desert till the river Nile. Comparable and even better than that the monolithic rock churches of Ethiopia, the ancient city of Axum, the walled city of Harer and the castle complex of Gondar city in Ethiopia are of great historical importance.
There is room for the beach loving tourists also in Africa. South Africa is the country to go for the tourists who love nothing better than to just relax in the holidays on the beach. South Africa also offers some great surfing spots which attracts a lot of surfers from all over the world each year. It also has some good diving spots with good quality reefs which attracts a lot of divers each year.
